Shanon Lee is a former contributor for The Lily at The Washington Post that has been featured on HuffPost Live, National Geographic, TV One and the REELZ Channel. Named to The Tempest’s "40 Women To Watch" list in 2019 for advancing the dialogue around gender-based violence, her opinion essays on misogynoir in pop culture have been shared by notables including bestselling author-turned-TERF J.K. Rowling, rap legend MC Lyte and political activist Kevin Powell. An alumnus of the Women's Media Center Progressive Women’s Voices program, she is currently the associate producer for TheGrio TV's 'A Taste of Chocolate' highlighting Black food entrepreneurs.
